My 50-year passion for photography began by exploring the icy shores of long Green Lake Michigan while visiting the family farm in Door County. Paying for the film and processing by doing chores later in life I was less than a model employee most of the time since my photography always drew a lion's share of my efforts. Then I met my loving and supportive bride Barb and with her guidance, we established and ran a very successful portrait commercial studio for almost 20 years. When she decided to return to her passion in life, caring for others, I begin the process of closing our beloved studio and returning to my passion for photography 'trees and rocks'. I now spend most of my photography time in our beloved Door County searching for seems that I can transform into my vision of fine art photography. David Heilman
